The Italian FA makes the official decision, British players will be treated as EU

It is now official, starting from the 2023/2024 season, players with United Kingdom citizenship will no longer be considered non-EU citizens. This was approved by the Federal Council, at the request of Lega Serie A, modifying the official press release of June 1, which in point G referred only to Swiss players.

"Football players with Swiss and British citizenship will have an equivalent citizenship with all effects to those of the Community. These provisions will be applied in relation to the new football season".

This will greatly help Italian clubs that have players with these two nationalities, as their registration will be easier.
