The "Chameria" team, which represents Albania in amateur football, has been banned from playing matches in Greece. The Hellenic state does not allow the Albanian team to play in the tournament that is being held in the city of Crete.

Through a post on social networks, the "Chameria" Patriotic Association has announced that the team is not allowed to participate, due to its name and logo.

This amateur football team regularly participates in non-professional competitions under the direction of the Albanian Football Federation and Socca Albania, which represents Albania in Socca International.

However, the team, led by coach Irtan Sejko, has been informed by the organizers and leaders of the Socca International Federation that the Greek government no longer allows the use of the name and logo "Chameria."

The news about the participation of the Albanian team in this tournament has attracted the attention of the local media in Crete, which have raised concerns about the name of the team. This reaction appears to have piqued the interest of the Greek authorities, who have initiated procedures to suspend the team's participation. This incident can be considered as part of a repeated wave of xenophobia on the part of Greek media and institutions towards Albanians.
