The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, has recently revealed a story related to match fixing.

He showed how a team avoided relegation from La Liga, due to the manipulations that the president of the club in question, whose name Tebas does not reveal, made in the most decisive game of the season.  

"Many years ago a club south of Castellon escaped from the president. The club managed to stay in La Liga and its president went down to the dressing room and told the players: 'We didn't win because of you, we won it because I manipulated the game,'" declared the president of La Liga.

It seems very strange that the head of such an important championship, such as La Liga, would speak openly about match-fixing.

However, Javier Tebas emphasized that this happened long before he assumed the role of president of La Liga./ CNA
