"Extinction" of football legend, Franz Beckenbauer/ Duke: Imperial farewell

The president of the AFL, Armand Duka, has reacted after the bitter news about the death of football legend Franz Beckenbauer.

Duke, writes that Beckenbauer was an emblematic figure and will be remembered as one of the most elegant and unique players in football history.

"Farewell Emperor", the Duke concludes his reaction.

"The football world, Germany and the fans lost today one of the symbols of this wonderful game. The brilliance of German football and world star Franz Beckenbauer has passed away leaving behind a great legacy. He became a legend. He won the European and World Champion titles as a footballer, while he also won the World Cup as a coach in 1990. At the club level, he won everything with Bayern Munich as well as two "Golden Balls", something rare for a defender. Beckenbauer is remembered as one of the most elegant and unique players in the history of football. An emblematic figure, not only for Germany, but also for Europe, who enjoyed immense popularity, baptized with the nickname "Der Kaiser".
