Paolo Maldini remains in the air, between PSG and the Italian national team

Sacked as Milan's sporting director last June, Paolo Maldini now finds himself without a real job. But offers shouldn't take long to land on the former defender's desk.

According to information from "Corriere dello Sport", Paris Saint Germain may choose Maldini to lead the new cycle in the event of the departure of Luis Campos in the coming months. The Parisian club can offer what the historic Rossoneri captain has been looking for for some time: a fully operational role, which includes market management, player selection and technical supervision.

However, Paolo Maldini is also mentioned in another file related to the Italian national team. FIGC president Gabriele Gravina put his name down alongside those of Gianluigi Buffon, Gabriele Oriali and Giorgio Chiellini for the staff restructuring around Roberto Mancini.

The role would be above all symbolic, a kind of charismatic connection between the dressing rooms and the Italian federation with a strong work also with the Italian youth. No decision has been made by Paolo Maldini but there is no doubt that he will find a new job soon.
