From Xavi to Maresca, the candidates for the Manchester United bench

After the official dismissal of Ruben Amorim from Manchester United, discussions and speculations immediately began in England about the coach who will succeed the Portuguese at "Old Trafford".

One of the favourites is Xavi Hernandez, who has been without a team since the summer of 2024 after leaving Barcelona. During his time at the Catalans, he managed to win the league, the Cup and the Spanish Super Cup, despite the club's financial difficulties.

Another candidate is Enzo Maresca, sacked by Chelsea earlier this year.

The list also includes Anthony Iraola, the manager of Bournemouth, who finished ninth last season and were close to qualifying for Europe. Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner is also a candidate.

Another name is Eddie Howe, currently at Newcastle, with whom he won the Carabao Cup last season, the club's first trophy in many decades, but who is facing pressure this season due to results.

The list also mentions Gareth Southgate, the former England coach, who has been without a team since 2024 and enjoys support within the club.
