With alcohol in the blood and at 200 km/h! Ishi of PSV is sentenced to prison in

27-year-old Dutch midfielder Rai Vloet was sentenced this Monday to two and a half years in prison after, in 2021, he was involved in a car accident in which Gio, a four-year-old boy, died.

According to the information published today by the Dutch newspaper 'Algemeen Dagblad', Vloet, who was absent from the court, as he is in Russia where he plays for Ural, was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. 

It is suspected that the player was moving at about 200 km/h, "with the gas at the end and did not try to brake or swerve", when he collided with the car where the boy was, together with his family.

The same source also guarantees that Vloet lied at an early stage, emphasizing that he was not the one behind the wheel and then saying that he had not been drinking.

In addition to the sentence, which the Public Ministry had requested for three and a half years in prison, Vloet will not drive a car for the next four years. The lawyer, quoted by the Dutch press, assures that the player "will not escape" punishment.

Vloet has been representing the Urals since September last year. Throughout his career he has played in teams such as PSV, Frosinone or Excelsior.
