The president of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, intervenes in the "Negreira-Barcelona" case, and even does so with a very strong statement. The Catalan club is accused of payments made to the former vice-president of the Spanish Technical Committee of Referees. UEFA has already announced the opening of an investigation.

"Barcelona? The situation is extremely serious, - said Ceferin in an interview for the Slovenian newspaper "Ekipa". - I have been informed and the situation is extremely serious. In my opinion, it is one of the most serious situations in football that I have ever seen."

Ceferin confirms that UEFA will go to the end of the matter in question: "I cannot comment directly on this matter, for two reasons: First, because we have an independent disciplinary commission responsible for this.

Second, because I have not dealt with the matter in detail. At the level of the Spanish league, of course, the issue is foreseen. There may be no competition consequences, but proceedings are continuing at the level of the Spanish civil prosecution. As far as UEFA is concerned, there is nothing provided in its regulations for such matters."
