Klopp's honesty: Here's why I haven't been sacked yet

2023-04-03 15:11:31, Sport CNA

Liverpool plays on the transfer with Chelsea this Tuesday, the backward challenge that belongs to the third week. The Blues of Lodra suffered a defeat last weekend against Crystal Palace, which led to the departure of Graham Potter. In fact, Potter wasn't the only one to lose his job, as Leicester also sacked Brendan Rogers.

Jurgen Klopp is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League at the moment, and despite the season not going well (Liverpool are 8th with 42 points), the club opted for stability. Regarding the departures of the aforementioned coaches, the German stated:

"What can I say? I'm still here in this crazy world. Last man standing... I think both clubs are not in the positions they were expected to be. I know them (Potter and Rogers) well, I like them both, they are good people, great coaches.

Those who make the decisions think things have to change and we have to accept it. It was a strange week: first Conte (Tottenham), then Nagelsmann (Bayern Munich) and now these two. The season is going to a crucial stage and people are afraid of not achieving their objectives".

Exasperated by the fact that even Liverpool haven't got the results they deserve, but he's still in charge, Klopp declared:

"I know I'm sitting here about what we've done in the past and not what we've done this season, and I don't like to talk about that.

If this was my first season, things might be different. But we have smart owners who know our situation. Better ask them. You don't have to be afraid. We are here to get the results, we are not talismans or pictures to put on the walls".
