The Cup of Albania raises the curtain, tomorrow the field will descend... 4

The Cup of Albania for the 71st edition will raise the curtain tomorrow with the preliminary round, where four teams that are part of the Second Category will initially play.

The Cup scheme remains the same as last season, where the pairs are predetermined by the AFL until the quarter-final round, while then, in the semi-final, a free draw is made to determine the two duels.

Even though the Albanian football institution has not yet published the pairings for the first round, "Panorma Sport" has managed to fully clarify the scheme.

This scheme is based on the ranking of the teams in the last championship, both in the Superior Category and in the First Category.

Thus, tomorrow at 15:00, in the stadiums of Koplik and Bilishti, two matches will be played with a direct elimination system:

Vele?iku-Murlani and Devolli-Sopoti. The winners of these meetings will then face Tirana and Laçi in the first round.

Vllaznia, which is the current winner of the Albanian Cup, in the first round, which starts on September 28, will play with the round-trip system against Flamurtari. On the other hand, Partizan faces Orik, while Kukësi faces Labëria.

The possibility of having a derby between Tirana and Dinamo in the quarter-final round is not excluded, although this remains to be seen. The AFL has predicted that the final of this edition will take place on May 28, 2023.
