Patrick Viera will be the new coach of the Genoa team.

The transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that the French technician and the Italian club have reached an agreement this Tuesday, while only formalization is missing.

At Genoa, Viera will replace Alberto Gilardino, who will leave the Italian club due to disappointing results in the first 12 weeks of this Serie A season.

Genoa is currently ranked 17th with only 10 points, a very dangerous position, as it is very close to the relegation zone.

Viera is expected to take charge of Genoa very soon, to start work in Serie A.

The 48-year-old Frenchman was without a team since July, after leaving Strasbourg, and is now ready to start a new journey, this time in a championship that he steps into for the first time as a coach.
