A former soccer player has confessed to the Swiss police that he killed a person almost five years ago (on June 16, 2018). He confessed that he got rid of the body, throwing it into Lake Lemàno, on the Franco-Swiss border.

The Tribune de Genève newspaper reveals the incredible story. The former midfielder said he had argued with the victim, who is believed to belong to a criminal gang in Lyon. The athlete, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, had to receive the goods in Spain. But instead attacked an organized crime figure in Lyon over an unpaid debt issue, according to the source cited above.

The former football player beat the victim, a 44-year-old mobster, to death with a baseball bat. Afterwards, he took the body in luggage from Lyon to Lancy (Geneva), where he lived. He stayed there for a few days until he decided to transfer this time to Villeneuve, a small town in the canton of Vaud, in the district of Aigle. The author told the police how he got rid of the suspected corpse, which has not yet been found. According to him, he sailed in a dinghy in Lake Geneva and, when he found the opportunity, threw the body.

The media is not releasing the name of the possible culprit, but they provide some clues. He started his football career in France. After making his debut in the French second division, he played for Swiss clubs such as FC Lancy or FC Aigle. The trial for this suspected crime will take place in May, from the 9th to the 12th.
