Albanian national team defender, Elseid Hysaj, is preparing for a new adventure, again in the elite of Italian football.

After the end of his contract with Lazio, the 32-year-old has emerged as a free agent on the transfer market. According to recent reports from Italian sports media, the Lecce club has intensified talks with the red and black player's manager, aiming to secure his services to strengthen the defensive department for the new season.

Negotiations between Hysaj's representatives and the club's directors from Puglia are progressing at a positive pace, with the parties discussing the final details of the contract. Lecce's directors aim to formalize the agreement within a few days, so that the player can join the team in the preparatory phase as soon as possible.

Hysaj's long experience in Serie A is considered an important factor in increasing the stability and security in the Italian team's backline.

Hysaj's career has been developed entirely in Italian football. After coming through Empoli's academy, he moved to Napoli in 2015, where he played for six seasons, before moving to Lazio in 2021.

During his five years with the capital club, the defender played 131 games in all competitions. However, the last season was characterized by limited opportunities, with the player only appearing in five league matches.

If this transfer is successfully finalized, Hysaj will have the opportunity to play on the same team as another Albanian national team player, midfielder Medon Berisha.

This move would allow the full-back to maintain the rhythm of matches in one of the most important European championships.
