Touching story/ He lost his sight in one eye, but he didn't give up and

Georgi Minoungou, the 23-year-old Seattle Sounders player originally from Ivory Coast, has attracted attention at the Club World Cup not only for his performances on the field, but also for his unique story.

He lost the sight in one eye after an infection during a friendly, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his dream of becoming a professional footballer. After a difficult period where he was in danger of losing out on a first-team contract, Minoungou worked hard to achieve this goal.

He previously played for MFK Vyskov and Tacoma Defiance, building his career step by step. The surgical intervention did not bring improvement, but the player did not give up.

Minoungou has stated that although he only sees with one eye, he is willing to give more than anyone else.

"It was one of the most difficult moments of my life. I only hoped to secure a contract with the first team of Seattle. I can't explain what happened. What I know is that my eye, little by little, stopped working. I only have one eye, but I can do better than someone who has two. I wanted to reach the highest levels, I worked hard and I succeeded," said Minoungou.

His Club World Cup debut came against Atletico Madrid, a highlight of a career full of challenges.
