Champions League semi-final, today Barça-Inter

Barcelona and Inter face off in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. 

The Catalans come into this match with high morale after their 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, a result that secured them the trophy for the 32nd time in history. 

After a match that lasted 120 minutes, the Spanish team will benefit from an extra day of rest compared to their Italian opponents, as they prepare for the 17th European meeting between the two clubs.

This is the first meeting between the two teams in the knockout stage since the 2009/2010 season, when Inter, under Jose Mourinho, eliminated Barcelona in the semi-finals, despite losing 1-0 in the second leg in Spain. 

While Barcelona keep their hopes of four trophies alive this season, Inter are aiming to achieve a trophy double, although that objective is now in doubt after recent results. 

Inzaghi's side lost 3-0 to Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals last week and were beaten 1-0 by Roma in Serie A on Sunday. The result left Simone Inzaghi's side three points off the top of the table and marked their fourth consecutive winless match in all competitions, as well as their third without scoring a goal.

Despite their poor league form, Inter have been successful in Europe, where they have gone six games unbeaten in the Champions League, including victories over Feyenoord and Bayern Munich in the knockout stages. 

Three consecutive away wins in this competition provide a strong boost for the clash with Barcelona, ??but history on Spanish soil is not in their favor, as they have not won there in more than 20 years.

The match between Barcelona and Inter will be played this Wednesday evening, starting at 9:00 PM.
