Milan finally "wakes up", the future of coach Conceicao is decided

Milan's results at the end of the season have changed, but it seems too late. Despite Conceicao having changed the team positively, his fate seems set.

The end of the season is expected to mark the end of his adventure on the red and black bench. The immediate objective of the club and the team is focused on the final of the Italian Cup, however, the end of April has also brought a first concrete assessment of the tactical changes undertaken by the coach.

In the last four matches, with the switch to the 3-4-3 system, Milan has managed to keep a clean sheet on three occasions, thus solving one of the most prominent problems of the season: the lack of balance and weakness in the defensive phase.

Although the performances on the field have been at different rates, the statistics show a noticeable improvement in terms of the team's stability.

It is still too early to talk about a complete turnaround, but the path that the coach and the team will follow this end of the season seems already defined. The tactical changes have had a positive impact on several individuals who had shown fluctuations in performance during most of the season.

Theo Hernandez has benefited significantly from this system, recovering his usual physicality and aggressiveness, helped by the fact that he has greater support behind him, which allows him more freedom in the attacking phase.

Likewise, Fofana, although he made mistakes in building up his moves, made an important contribution in the defensive phase and in interrupting the opposing team's moves, being decisive in the match against Venezia, where he provided an assist.

In the same vein is Christian Pulisic, who has managed to find the missing spaces and effectiveness, confirming his role as a reliable element in the team, despite the changes in technical direction over the last two years.

Despite these improvements, there remain great regrets for a season that failed in many aspects.

The good performance in this final phase is not enough to compensate for the missed opportunities, but at least it shows that the basis for the future can be more stable, if the club will make the right decisions during the summer.
