The blundering judge sets justice in Albania-Spain

Albania plays a very important match on Monday, June 24, against Spain.

The challenge takes on special importance, as it will determine the teams that pass the group. After Spain, which secured the qualification, Albania, Croatia and Italy are in the competition.

This Saturday, UEFA also revealed the referees who will judge the match between the Albanian and Iberian national teams.

There will be a trio of Swedish referees for this meeting, where Glenn Nyberg has been chosen as the main one. The 35-year-old became widely known last season for his blunders in the Champions League quarter-final first leg between Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

The Swede was the protagonist, denying a penalty to each team. Initially, he made a mistake in the 66th minute, not seeing a hand touch in the Arsenal area, while at the end of the meeting, he did not award a penalty to a Neuer foul on Saka.

Before the match, the accusations against the referee were big, but UEFA has chosen to give him another chance, in an important match, such as the one between Spain and Albania.

Nyberg's assistants will be his two compatriots, Beigi and Söderqvist. Ukrainian Mykola Bakalin has been chosen as the fourth referee, while in VAR, the German Christian Dingert is chosen.

The match between Albania and Spain is scheduled to be played on Monday, June 24, at 21:00, at the Dusseldorf stadium.
