Euro 2025 in Albania/ Coach Tedesco: Let's improve the team

The coach of the U-17 National Team, Andrea Tedesco, took charge of the team composed of red and black talents born in 2009, who were activated in the two friendly matches against Hungary at the "House of Football" during this week.

As part of preparations for the European U-17 Championship taking place in May in Albania, coach Tedesco had the opportunity to test and evaluate young Albanian footballers who could be part of the U-17 National Team.

In a statement to fshf.org after the second match, coach Tedesco said that he was happy with the climate created in the team and that it is important to follow the journey of young players in football.

"We are very pleased, for many reasons. First, because the Federation has asked me to coach the U-16 team for several weeks. We have been together for a short time, 2 and a half days, and from many boys we have managed to put a team on the field. The result does not matter, because today could have gone better, as well as in the first match. But in youth football it is important to see the presentation and growth that the boys have during the time they are with us, but also in a longer journey", - said coach Tedesco.

"I am very happy with the staff I have recently met, even though we have only been working together for a few weeks, new staff, a positive climate has been created immediately. This is important, especially when working with young people who need to grow, trust and represent the country," he added.

"Now we close one door and open another, because we have to focus on the European finals and the U-17 team, with which we will gather in March. We have to try to improve the team a little," the Italian coach underlined.

"Now that we have a staff that calmly manages to build together daily activities, I want to thank them. I want to thank the Federation for giving me the U-16 team, but especially for the opportunity to participate in the U-17 European Championship, for which we will start working tomorrow and leave the U-16 aside", - concluded the coach of the U-17 National Team.
