Drita makes the new coach official, the people of Gjilan trust a Greek

Drita Club officially appointed the new "helmsman" of the team, as the Gjilan leaders trust the Greek coach, Akis Vavalis. The 37-year-old has been selected as the replacement for Arsim Thaqi, who left Drita a few days ago.

In the announcement of the Drita club, it is announced that the contract with Akis Vavalis is valid until the end of the 2023/24 season, while it also includes the option to renew it for an extra year. In his previous experiences as a coach, Vavalis has managed Krumovgrad in the second Bulgarian league or Vasalunds in the third Swedish league.

On the other hand, the 37-year-old has been in the role of assistant at Pas Lamia, Atromitos or Arisi in Greece. Along with Vavalis, his assistant Nikolas Karabetakis has also been transferred to Drita. We remember that Mirel Josa was also rumored for Drita's bench, but in the end the agreement between the parties was not reached due to personal reasons of the capital technician.
