Ronaldo's "bomb", Manchester United is thinking of breaking his contract

2022-11-15 08:56:55, Sport CNA

The "bomb" that Cristiano Ronaldo dropped on Sunday evening will continue to fire for a long time.

Manchester United reacted through a statement to the interview, that the Portuguese attacker accused the club of betrayal and that they tried to remove him during the summer.

"The club will consider its response after all the facts have come out. Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season, continuing the momentum, trust and unity that has been built between the players, coach, staff and fans," the club's statement read.

"The Telegraph" discovered that yesterday coach Erik ten Hag met with administrator Richard Arnold and sporting director John Murtaugh to discuss the punishment for Ronaldo. The co-president and owner, Joel Glejzer, also participated in the discussions.

According to "Sky Sport", the Dutch coach and teammates are very disappointed with the language that the Portuguese used during the interview, but also with the time of its release. Sanctions can range from fines, to suspension, but also termination of the contract in January, thus leaving the striker free 6 months before his contract expires.

The club is consulting with lawyers and will take legal advice before responding to CR7's statement.

A well-known sports lawyer, David Seligman, whose firm works with "Djajte", said that United has the grounds to break his contract without penalties.

"Junajtid has grounds for terminating the contract after this interview.

There is a breach of contract in the area of ??trust and damage to the club's reputation," the lawyer wrote on Twitter before deleting it. According to him, Junajtid can also stop payments to manager Zhorzh Mendesh.

Players' agents are paid for what is called "further services" to maintain a stable relationship between club and player, the opposite of what this interview has done.
