The Argentines bow to Luka Modric

Croatian football legend Luka Modric said goodbye to the World Cup tonight as he was greeted with a big ovation.

In his last World Cup appearance, his fourth in total, Modric was undoubtedly the leader of the Balkan national team. He has one more match to play, the one for third place on Saturday.

In today's match, coach Dali? decided to replace him in the 81st minute, giving way to Majer, the boy whom in 2008, in the Dinamo Zagreb - Hajduk Split final, he used as he entered the field.

At the moment of the substitution, the whole stadium stood up and applauded Modric, the fans of Argentina also bowed before him.

The former winner of the Ballon d'Or was received by the Argentines with great applause. The Croatian players, who were on the bench, lined up to congratulate Modric for everything. As he left the field, it was clearly a very emotional moment for him.

Modric first made it official that the World Cup will be his last career appearance for Croatia, but then said that he will think about everything when the World Cup in Qatar ends. He may make a final decision soon.
