Domestic violence, the Tirana Court issued 1142 protection orders in 2022

Domestic violence is a phenomenon that is increasing in cases from year to year.

Only in the capital for 2022, 1142 protection orders were issued by the court in favor of victims of violence.

According to official data published by the Court of Tirana, in one year there are 970 immediate protection orders and 172 protection orders.

The violence, be it psychological or physical, has cost him dearly in some cases.

In 36 cases the abusers were forbidden to see the children and in 1 case the court decided to remove the parental rights from the abuser.

Based on the law on measures against violence in family relations, in most cases the court has requested through the protection order that the respondent not threaten the victim, contact or communicate directly with him.

In 465 protection orders, the court requested that the abuser not approach the person nor appear in the apartment of the person who filed the lawsuit, and in 11 cases victims of domestic violence were immediately sheltered in temporary centers./ Euronews Albania
