Adolescents, in front of the models/ Halimi: They need to be oriented, the
Psychology Arbilola Halimi

The information that comes online, including social networks due to the lack of filtering mechanisms, is causing children to face information that exceeds age limits and that often becomes harmful to mental health, even to aggressive behavior.

For psychologist Arbiola Halimi, the first issue that must be raised and understood is what are the models that children should follow and which they are following.

In an interview for CNA TV, Halimi said that the entire information chain must be intervened to prevent children from facing serious consequences.

"The fundamental question is who are the models they are following and which should the children follow? Bad models, the child can encounter them and it is the "blueprint" that must be intervened if we really want to reduce the level of aggressiveness, impulsiveness that are partly explainable in adolescence, but not when they take on other dimensions .

What is happening in schools today is the decline of the authoritative figure of the teacher. Schools are faced with a pressure to have a good image, tend to cover up problems which then only get worse. Another thing about social networks is that online communication is a big universe, that's why we pay attention to it", she said.

Among other things, Halimi pointed out another problem, the prejudice against psychological treatment.

"Adolescents seek help from psychologists, but often do not find their parents' agreement. The latter do not understand this part or have those defense mechanisms that my child is not for a psychologist because there is always that feeling of guilt, they think that they are the problem and they do not understand that in today's society with such an accelerating lifestyle, it is not prejudicial to seek help from a psychologist", emphasized Halimi.

Social networks and the influence they have on the behavior of teenagers has led to the discussion in Albania about the closure of "TikTok", as one of the platforms that is seen as not suitable for teenagers, in conditions where there are no information filtering mechanisms. / CNA
