The Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, has given some advice to citizens to protect themselves from high temperatures.

Koçiu suggests citizens to drink as much water as possible, wear light clothing, avoid exposure to the sun, use sun protection and cold compresses.

Also, she advises citizens to go out in the cooler hours of the day, to protect children and the elderly, and to use medications by people with health problems.

To protect yourself from the high temperatures of these summer days, it is necessary to follow the medical advice:

- Drink as much water as possible to avoid dehydration and avoid alcoholic and caffeinated drinks as they can lead to dehydration.

- Wear light clothing Wear light, loose and light-colored clothing to help the body stay cool.

- Stay in the shade and avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during peak hours (11:00-16:00).

- Use sunscreen and wear wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses to protect your skin and eyes from UV radiation.

- Use cold compresses, take cold showers or use fans and air conditioning to lower body temperature.

- Choose the coolest hours of the day by performing physical activity early in the morning or late in the afternoon when temperatures are lower.

- Monitor children and the elderly, as they are more susceptible to high temperatures and dehydration.
