New wave of Covid-19/ Distinctive signs

New variants of Covid are starting to spread across the UK.

The two most popular variants are FLiRT and LB.1.

These variants are descended from JN.1, which is a subvariant of the Omicron type.

They usually cause a severe cough or sore throat that won't go away for a long time. Other distinctive signs are temperature, fever, fatigue, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.

Paul Hunter, an epidemiology expert from the University of East Anglia said that Covid variants should not raise alarm, as they are already part of our lives.

"We will all have recurrent Covid infections from birth to death. "Overall, what we've seen is that over the last three years, the severity of Covid-related illness has greatly decreased," Hunter said.

FLiRT and LB.1. have the same length as the previous variants.
