The Art Gallery in the city of Pogradec has welcomed the personal exhibition of Berat painter Agron Polovina. With a long career in visual art, Polovina has brought to the public 38 paintings, mainly landscapes that reflect the beauties of Pogradec and the surrounding areas, but also tableaux with traditional clothing from different regions of Albania.
The author says that his connections with Pogradec are ancient, since the years of the Artistic Lyceum, where one of his teachers, the painter Gjergji Lako, introduced him to this city and its magic. According to Polovina, the lake and natural beauties of Pogradec have served as a living museum, inspiring him to create a special cycle of works.
"It is no coincidence that I come to the city of Pogradec. My ties with Pogradec are ancient, since the years of the Artistic Lyceum, where Gjergji Lako, one of my most beloved teachers, brought Pogradec closer to us. My artist friends have also made it easier for me to come here. The city of Pogradec is magic, it is a muse, with the lake and other beauties. I come with great pleasure to paint and in the end I formed a cycle of paintings of the city and the river areas", said the artist.
The exhibition also includes five new compositions, which, as the author says, are inspired by the heritage of his hometown, but also by current Albanian issues.
"The exhibition contains a collection of 38 paintings, mainly landscapes. Also, during my travels in Albania, I have created several paintings with characteristic Albanian clothing. The most important part for me are the compositions, where for the first time in many years I have published 5 works inspired by the heritage of my city, but also by current problems of our country", - says Polovina.

Colleagues and friends of the artist, such as painters Arben Golemi and Vagjo Vasili, have praised Polovina as a wonderful landscape painter, a dedicated painter with great artistic sensitivity.
"Agron is not only my colleague, but also my friend and one of my collaborators. He is an established painter, a talent and a wonderful landscaper. To stand out for painting in Albania, you have to be dedicated to painting alone. Agron is a dedicated man and a very good painter," said Golemi.
"Agron is a very qualitative and very responsible painter, above all very serious. He is a painter with great sensitivity and waits for the moment to put on canvas what he will convey to others. Painting is not a postcard that everyone will like. Agron has extremely beautiful works," said Vasili.
At the Pogradec Art Gallery, Agron Polovina has brought not only paintings, but memories, inspiration and feelings that arise from the love for the country and for art. With warm landscapes, traditional paintings and compositions that speak of today's reality, he invites the public to stop, see and feel. This exhibition is a bridge between the past and the present, between the canvas and life, where Pogradec is not just a background, but part of the soul of each work./CNA
