The "Fest Folk 2025" concert, the second edition of the Shkodër Region Folk Ensemble, has opened in Koplik, Malesi e Madhe, under the auspices of the Shkodër Region Council and the Malësi e Madhe Municipality. "Fest Folk 2025", which is becoming a tradition, brought songs, dances and various interpretations on the first night.

" I want to thank the Shkodra Region for organizing such events. We must not forget the past because this is our culture throughout the centuries," said the mayor of the Municipality of Malesia e Madhe.

"I am pleased to welcome you to this second edition of Fest Folk, which comes as our cultural heritage. We will travel to the 5 municipalities of Shkodra County. As an edition that serves to transmit our values. Folk is not only music, but also a call to inherit it from generation to generation. Through dances and songs, we aim to keep this culture we have alive. We have always been represented with dignity at the Gjirokastra Festival, so let Fest Folk be a window to share as much of our heritage as possible ," said Edmond Ndou, chairman of the Shkodra County Council.

 

This activity echoes the rich cultural heritage of the Shkodra Region. Artists from the Greater Highlands brought to the stage the musical values of this region, which have always been preserved and enriched by the artistic spirit of the people.

 

Then, the artistic group of the “Pjetër Gaci” Cultural Center, Shkodër, takes the stage. Thus, the Shkodër civic songs gracefully merge with those of the Greater Highlands – lyrics presented through texts that emanate from the poetic spirit, where the enchanting sounds of musical instruments create an extremely impressive atmosphere.

 

For musicians, such events always bring excitement as they serve especially to educate the younger generation with folkloric tradition.

 

" It was a pleasant manifestation where tradition comes with new energy and an audience that is eagerly awaiting this event. Such activities are especially valuable in passing on to the new generation this wonderful tradition that we have as an important cultural heritage ," said composer Zef Çoba.

" It is an event that is worth attending by other young artists as well. The audience is friendly and I thank the organizers for this initiative," said singer Gentjana Tafili.

 

Meanwhile, Father Pashko Gojçaj from Tuzi welcomes cooperation in these activities with Malësia across the border:

 

" This cooperation helps because we guide and help each other. So such events and collaborations are extremely necessary ," said Father Pashko Gojçaj.

 

"Fest Folk 2025" from Malësia e Madhe will travel to other municipalities in the Shkodër District, according to a special schedule, where hundreds of artists are engaged to promote songs, dances and colorful costumes, thus contributing to the preservation of our heritage and placing it at the service of the development of cultural tourism./ CNA
