The city of Korça is once again dressed in the atmosphere of humor and performing arts. The 12th edition of the Koko Fest comedy festival, one of the most important cultural events of this city, has begun. At the “Andon Zako Çajupi” theater, the audience experienced a special evening, where the premiere “A Marriage, a Divorce, a Funeral” officially opened the festival, bringing applause and lots of laughter.

Director Rovena Lule, excited about her first participation in this festival, said that besides the pleasure of being in Korça, the show conveys a simple but great message, that friendship is the strength that always accompanies us.

"It's an extraordinary pleasure to be at Koko Fest today. For me, it's the first time I've participated with a work. I've been to Koko Fest almost every year, it's an extraordinary festival. I'm very excited tonight. For us, it's the second time we've brought the show back to Korça. It's a comedy about three very close friends and it gives the message that friendship is what always stays by our side and never lets us down," says director Lule.

On the other hand, actress and director of the Korça theater, Zamira Kita, emphasized that this festival has now become a tradition of the city, an annual celebration where citizens have the opportunity to enjoy comedy and find what is most essential, to laugh and have fun.

"Today Koko Fest started and it is the twelfth year that we have been holding this comedy festival. The city is in celebration and the hall is full. Today we started with "A Wedding, a Divorce, a Funeral" where I had my role. The show went well, the audience laughed and that is the goal that the audience should laugh," said Kita

For actress Egla Ceno, participating in Koko Fest is a privilege, as, as she expressed it, the festival is a space where artists meet and are appreciated, a place where art comes together and takes on the dimension of a major event.

"I am happy that Koko Fest opened with a production by the Korça theater. It is a fantastic event because many artists come together, watch and appreciate each other. It is a festival in the truest sense of the word, so I wish it success," said actress Ceno.

Meanwhile, Franc Bregu, one of the young actors who often takes to the Korça stage, sees the festival as a bridge that connects entire generations of artists. For him, Koko Fest is an opportunity to share emotion with the audience and learn from the experience of older colleagues.

"Koko Fest this year is in its 12th edition. It is a great theater celebration because it is one of the artistic events of the year that takes place in Korça, where it brings together all the old and new artists. I have been lucky enough to participate several times in some performances of the Korça troupe and it is a pleasure and emotion. It is beautiful when you meet your friends, when you see them play, but also when you meet entire generations of artists who have given a lot to the stage."

With humorous scenes, the energy of the participating troupes and the excitement of the audience that fills the hall every year, Koko Fest continues to be one of the cultural symbols of Korça.
