“Buna Fest”/ Entertainment and water sports on the banks of the Buna

"Buna Fest", organized in the Dajçi area, became a meeting point for residents, young people and tourists this August, a celebration that brought music, culture and the promotion of the natural resources of the Buna River.

This activity, organized by the Municipality of Shkodra in collaboration with EKO Mendje and the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, aimed to promote the extraordinary resources of this unique area, turning it into an attractive destination for cultural and natural tourism.

"The party organized today in Breg i Bunës is in the continuation of the parties that the municipality has organized throughout the summer to promote our most beautiful areas. Dajçi is a very fertile area that deals with decorative trees and their export. Young people from Shkodra or tourists should also come here. To understand that not only the center but wherever you go, you can find a place to have a good time. And this is how we conclude the activities from one area to another with the aim of promoting them", said Teuta Qyteza, Deputy Mayor of Shkodra Municipality.

"We are in the Dajçi area near the Buna River. "Buna Fest" is an activity that was organized for the first time in this area, a very attractive area that has become very popular with tourists and residents. It is only 11 km from the city and can be reached by bicycle. An area that offers a lot, especially in summer, such as special beaches. Today we decided to hold the festival here as part of the festivals offered by the administrative unit. It is an area that should be promoted through such activities," said Mirsad Basha, "EKO Mendje".

Water sports became adrenaline for tourists from different countries, who expressed their impressions:

"I come from the UK. Here in Albania it's beautiful, there's amazing scenery, the water was amazing, the lake was amazing, the tour itself was really good, like I said, a beautiful experience. I went to Bosnia last year, so from the scenery there I was expecting a rough nature and this was exactly what we expected."

"It's incredible what we experienced. It was very social and meditative. A real peace amidst a huge green greenery everywhere. You just walk in the river and you feel very good. We found a spiritual peace. I'm from Oxford, United Kingdom and it's my first time in Albania and we enjoyed something wonderful. A very beautiful nature that we had the opportunity to experience."

The atmosphere was filled with live music and DJs, a fair that included local agro-food products, traditional crafts, as well as stands with flowers and decorative trees, a specialty of the area. Attendees enjoyed a different evening, where entertainment was combined with tradition, reinforcing the image of the Buna River as a natural treasure that deserves to be discovered and preserved. /CNA
