Erion Veliaj lied again today in a status on social media where he claimed that prosecutor Ols Dado insulted him during the hearing by calling him "filth." Veliaj went too far with his Machiavellian tactics, publishing a transcript from the court hearing showing a dialogue between him and prosecutor Dado.
The mayor, who now has the Durrës detention center as his office, was not satisfied with intimidation, boasting that he "has no idea who he's dealing with," and with news ordered from portals at his service about prosecutor's notes and construction permits, but he has also begun to fabricate official documents.
This move by Veliaj turned out to be an own goal as his intention to have Dado excluded from the investigation was rejected by the GJKKO and SPAK, which denied his ridiculous version written on a document with an equally ridiculous style and far from an official record.
SPAK reacted exclusively to CNA and rejected Veliaj's false accusations, denying that the word "filth" was used by the prosecutor in Veliaj's case.
"The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime informs you as follows: The minutes of the court session dated 12.02.2025, on page 292, numbered by the Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) and the audio of this session do not include the words mentioned by the person under investigation, EV, published in the media today," SPAK stated to CNA.
CNA secured the minutes of the session where the confrontation between prosecutor Ols Dado and Erion Veliaj is revealed, and not a single line contains the word "filth" as Veliaj claims.
In its response to the media, the GJKKO refutes Veliaj's claim, as if it were not enough to heap mud on Dada, it considers the courtroom as a slaughterhouse for Judge Erjon Bani.
"From the verification made in the audio system of the court session for the questioning of the persons under investigation Erion Veliaj, etc., dated 12.02.2025, specifically the time interval 6:34:02 PM - 6:34:57 PM (to which the suspect Erion Veliaj refers in his post) as well as from the minutes of the court session, it does not appear that the word "filth" was used by prosecutor Ols Dado at any time ," the announcement states.
Veliaj has become a stubborn man who is trying to force the prosecutor and judge to withdraw from the case, but is losing popularity every time the truth is confronted with these lowly deceptions and fabrications./ CNA
