Turkey has vetoed Finland and Sweden, paving the way for their NATO membership.

DP leader Sali Berisha, in a Facebook post, described the Summit as historic, adding that under US leadership, the most powerful politico-military alliance will become the Global Alliance of Free Countries for the protection of peace, freedom, democracy in the world.

Historical Summit!

Dear friends, today the leaders of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance gather in a truly historic Summit for this Alliance.

At this Summit, after the lifting of the veto by Turkey, Sweden and Finland are accepted full members of the Alliance. The membership of these two countries in NATO is of great strategic importance.

It makes the Scandinavian peninsula and the Alliance itself safer than ever from Russian danger and any other danger. Wishing success to the Summit and these two countries as well as the Alliance for this historic decision, let us also wish dear friends that NATO, the most powerful politico-military Alliance of Freedom of all time, under the leadership of the US becomes Global alliance of free countries for the protection of peace, freedom, democracy in the world! /CNA.al
