The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has opposed the extension of the term of the law of strategic investments by the socialist majority through a post on social networks.

She has described it as a tool used to favor oligarchs and government-connected clients.

"This law, which was passed as a temporary measure in 2015, has degraded into an abusive mechanism that only serves to reward a handful of people near the majority. While Albanians face great economic difficulties, the government distributes public assets with a symbolic rent of 1 euro to its customers", says Tabaku in a post on social networks.

The law of strategic investments has caused many debates and criticisms about the way of implementation and about the circle of beneficiaries.

According to her, the government should immediately stop this abusive practice and focus on creating a fair climate for honest investments and benefits for Albanian citizens, not for a small group of privileged people./ CNA
