The PD candidate for the Tirana municipality, Belind Kelliçi, has cast strong doubts, stating that the mayor Erion Veliaj had multiple contacts with the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal.

Invited to an interview on Syri TV, Kelliçi said that he hopes that a full investigation will be done by the FBI regarding this scandal.

" So far we have seen the tip of the iceberg.

There are many rumors that Erion Veliaj is a person who has had multiple contacts with Mr. McGonigal. There are many sayings that Mr. Veliaj met periodically in the capital with the FBI agent McGongal, now under indictment.

These are new information and I don't have any facts to share with you here, but I would be curious to know how the following events will unfold. Are these allusions true or not, and I hope for a full investigation by the FBI", stated Kelliçi./ CNA.al
