"Free health, fraud"/ Vokshi: Lack of medicines and expired medicines
Albana Vokshi

The deputy of the Democratic Party, Albana Vokshi, denounced from the blue office that free healthcare is Edi Rama's biggest fraud.

According to her, there is a shortage of medicines and expired medicines in the country's hospitals.

Vokshi underlined that the people responsible for this situation in health are Edi Rama, the Ministers of Health over the years (Beqaj, Manastirlliu and Koçiu) as well as the Directors of QSUT over the years.

Full statement:

Free health is Edi Rama's biggest scam! Not only do patients not get free healthcare, they don't even get healthcare for the most part. The Health Sector is underfunded, and that budget goes mainly to the 4 unnecessary, abusive and corrupt concessions that total about 450 million Euros.

A few days ago, I called the Minister of Health, the Director of QSUT and the head of the oncology service to the hearing in the Health Commission about the oncology scandal. Minister Koçiu said: we have achieved success with health reforms! Health is only moving forward! What did the Director of QSUT and the head of services say?

They accepted without blushing without turning yellow without any human feeling the lack of medications:

– Irinotecan

– Erlotinib is in short supply. It was a donation, but it is no longer available! A tender is not made because a bargain must be made in order to make a tender. Patients were given a reduced dose every 10 days

– gencitabine is in short supply

– iodine is more scarce since January

Who is responsible for absences?

Canceled Tenders

Who is responsible that even after the KLSH report that raised the alarm that the delay in the tendering of medicines in oncology for a few days brought an immediate negative effect on the health and lives of patients??

Referred to Open data Albania, there are about 4 million lek tenders from January 1 until today, which are not done because the shopping has to be done first?? And if tenders are not made, there is a shortage... and no one is responsible!!!

They are responsible for the inhumane treatment of patients who receive chemotherapy in chairs, in a small, even unconditioned room, dozens of patients sitting as if not worse, with vigos and tubes in their hands, sitting for hours on end in terrible conditions??

Meanwhile, the KLSH report states that the financial expenses from the state budget for the treatment of tumor diseases have not increased, but have remained almost unchanged, while the number of patients diagnosed and treated with tumor diseases is increasing.

There is a collaboration between the governors, leaders of the public and private health sectors, with the intention of not putting equipment and devices into operation so that patients can be directed to the private sector and share the profit.

Who is responsible for the lack of medicines today? For the lack of cures for patients?

What happens to patients who do not follow the protocol?

What happens to patients who cannot receive treatment?

What happens to patients who cannot take chemotherapy?

What happens to patients whose doses are halved or reduced?

SCANDAL WITH EXPIRED DRUGS:

I am referring you to another concern that I have also raised in the health committee. We are talking about the drug FEIBA used for patients with hemophilia. I also requested information at QSUT through an official letter to get information about this medication. In response, no information required.

In the information that came to PD, by order of Albana Fico, at that time Director of QSUT, an intervention was made in the pharmacy system within QSUT, for the transfer of this medication, even though expired (expiry date 31.12.2024) , from the central pharmacy to another pharmacy.

Quantity: 1,137 vials of FEIBA medication used for hemophilia patients

Expiry date: 31/12/2023

Total value: 135,924,438 ALL (about 1.35 million EURO)

Today, I am once again asking the questions of the Minister of Health and the Head of QSUT:

• Are there expired amounts of FEIBA medicine in QSUT?

• Where is the amount of 1,137 vials of FEIBA medicine with an expiration date of December 31, 2023?

Has this amount of expired FEIBA been entered into the pediatric pharmacy while the SISP system does not allow it?

Why was the intervention made if it is not a regular procedure?

• Did the former director of QSUT Albana Fico give the order for this intervention?

• What happens to this expired amount of medication that circulates by order of the leaders from one pavilion to another??

Those responsible for this situation in health are Edi Rama, the Ministers of Health over the years (Beqaj, Manastirlliu and Koçiu) as well as the Directors of QSUT over the years.

We need to change the situation in health so that the citizens' constitutional right to a decent health service is respected.

We must react, take our fate in our hands, to protect health! To protect life!/CNA
