The Coordinator for the Economic Program in the Democratic Party, Dorjan Teliti, has reacted in relation to the decision to increase the police force by 500.

According to Telit, this is a political action that serves the government but costs 5 million euros every year to Albanian taxpayers.

He emphasizes that, in 11 years, every decision of the majority has not been undertaken to help the citizens, development, economy and market actors, but only how and how to cement the rotten roots of bad governance.

Teliti has underlined that they can add 500 officers to the government police, but they will never be able to suppress the civil protests.

Fact: A few days ago, the government approved the Budget Normative Act 2024, where, among other things, it was decided that the "police fences" will be increased by another 500 officers.

Does Albania, order and security need these 500 additional policemen or does the government simply need them to protect themselves from popular anger?

How can it happen that while the population decreases as a result of depopulation, on the other hand, the numbers in the ranks of the police forces increase?

Why should taxpayers pay 5 million euros every year for the salaries of these really unnecessary additional officers, while with this money we could build several health centers or kindergartens every year?

Fact: In 11 years, every decision of the governing majority has not been undertaken to help citizens, development, economy and market actors, but only how and how to cement the rotten roots of bad governance.
