A candidate is proposed for the Primary, for the Municipality of Durrës/

The head of the Agrarian Party, Agron Duka, has rejected rumors that he will run for the Durrës Municipality.

He did not accept the proposal from the DP membership, who proposed him as a candidate for the Primary.

Duka clarified that he will support the candidacy of Igli Cara, of the DP, for the local elections.

Agron Duka's full statement:

I will not compete in Durrës, I will support the candidacy of Igli Cara!

Dear citizens of Durrës!

Through this post I want to share a decision with you.

Më njoftuan nga dega lokale e PD-së në këtë qytet se në disa njësi, anëtarësia e kësaj partie më ka propozuar si kandidat për të marrë pjesë në zgjedhjet paraprake, për kandidatin për kryetar bashkie në zgjedhjet vendore, si përfaqësues i opozitës.

Ndjej të falenderoj çdo qytetar durrsak, që është pjëse e Partisë Demokratike, dhe që ka propozuar që unë të jem në këtë garë. E vlerësoj maksimalisht dhe, me zemër do të doja ti përfaqësoja ata dhe shumë të tjerë në këtë garë, me dëshirën e madhe për të bërë më të mirën për qytetin dhe fshatrat e Durrësit.

Por, duke qenë kryetar i Partisë Agrare Ambientaliste, unë jam i detyruar ti përkushtohem fushatës së PAA-së në të gjithë Shqipërinë. Ndaj dhe e kam të pamundur të jem personalisht pjesë e kësaj gare.

I promise every democrat and every citizen of Durrës, that my contribution will be, as always, for the city and the citizens of this municipality.

I personally and PAA with its structures will officially support the democratic candidate Igli Cara, with the full conviction that he is the man that the municipality of Durres and the citizens of Durres need.

Once again, I thank those who proposed me and I assure them that we will be together on the same front, to do the best for our city./CNA.al
