The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, emphasized the importance of declaring several national emergencies for Albania.

Kelliçi mentioned that among the advantages of this initiative is the support for pensioners, stressing the necessity of a stable pension scheme.

Invited to a TV show, Kelliçi said that the Democratic Party aims to provide a minimum pension for every pensioner, seeing this as an urgent need.

"As for Albania, the Democratic Party is on the verge of declaring several national emergencies. Currently there are five main points, the first of which is precisely related to pensioners. We must sacrifice everything to guarantee the pension scheme and ensure a minimum pension for pensioners.

Since this time, for the first time, the diaspora also votes, the main demand of the diaspora is related to pensions, since most of them have families here - parents, my generation, younger or slightly older, who have left Albania but still support the Albanian economy with their remittances. Most of them have parents in Albania. If it were not for them, their parents here would suffer for bread, we must say this because it is a reality, and today an elderly couple cannot afford to live with the pensions provided by the Albanian government.

Having said that, one of the key demands we had from the diaspora, and that the citizens I met in the United States of America expressed, was the issue of pensions. Pensions in Albania are bordering on ridiculous," said Këlliçi.
