Former MP Lefter Maliqi commented today regarding several political figures who are in prison.

In a television appearance, Maliqi mentioned, among other things, the case of former president Ilir Meta.

Speaking about Meta's situation in prison, Maliqi indicated that the leader of the Freedom Party controls the food he consumes in his cell.

 "Since I was the deputy director general of prisons, but also the police chief, since I have long acquaintances with Mr. Meta, Ilir Meta has never been afraid of justice. His arrest, for me, is political, it was an anti-legal arrest. Such arrests are only made for dangerous criminals.

Of course, Mr. Meta controls the food, I was the first to say that food should be controlled. Because in high-security prisons, you saw that a prisoner was killed in Peqin. Minister Manja said that they dropped him with a drone. It has now emerged that pistols were dropped in pieces in food or various packages. But for me it was a well-organized internal prison and a paid elimination, and another person's life was lost. Imagine now that food should be controlled. All of these people control the food, you know the statements of Arben Ahmetaj who said that if I were in prison I would not be well today. Beqja also had health problems, Mr. Veliaj also had health problems.

So Mr. Meta is very excessive. Imagine, they also banned meetings with children. They are not allowed 2 but 1 child is required. They have almost banned food on occasion or taking away the phone, checks as if it were a criminal, they do checks from time to time, the special forces of the DAP that are near the General Directorate of Prisons. These are vindictive, primitive actions, and when they are done against a person who has led the state, the government, the parliament and leads the second opposition force, imagine what happens to ordinary citizens.
