The Mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, received the Minister of State for Local Government Affairs, Arbjan Mazniku, today in a meeting near the municipality.

The latter was accompanied by the Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, while the focus of the meeting was the discussion of the problems and demands of the local government. During the discussions, Xhakolli focused on three important issues, including the removal of the bandage on the salary level, help for the public debt as well as the financing of the Mokrra axis project.

"We thought to hold a meeting with all the municipalities, to hear from each municipality about the problems they have. We systematize and structure as we are doing and see what are the problems that are general that many municipalities have, and that solved, but also to see what are the specific problems that a municipality has so that we can assist in those issues." - said Maznik.

"The first is about the part of the salary band that we have to remove. From 0-50 thousand inhabitants, this is the salary, so Beijing has 50 thousand inhabitants, while I have the same. It should be removed for every municipality because you can't find an architect with 400,000 ALL. The second is public debt. I found 6 million euros and now we have passed this stage, but we still cannot afford it. We have good tourism, but we cannot do agrotourism because we lack infrastructure in the deep area of ??Mokra. We have asked the government for some investments in roads. We think that the basis of the development of tourism in Pogradec are three roads in Llënga, Dishnica and Nice" - requested Xhakolli.

In addition, Minister Mazniku has requested that the requests related to these issues be listed and presented officially to the ministry that he leads.

"You bring me written documents because it helps me a lot when we receive it in writing and we also communicate, for example, the issue of salaries. The second I want a list of the projects you have and the third I want a list of the municipality's revenue budget for the last 2 years and if you have a plan for 2024. The fourth also a list of the entire organic structure with the level of the salary you have for all positions, but also for vacancies. This is how we will understand what the problems are, in which fields you cannot find employees" - were the instructions that Minister Mazniku left.

This was the next meeting, after the tour of meetings that was organized by Minister Mazniku, while the main focus, in addition to the discussions of the problems, remains the development of the relations between the local authorities and the central one./ CNA
