The EU ambassador in Tirana, Luigi Soreca, was asked by journalists about the agreement signed between Albania and Italy for immigrants.
Soreca said that the EU is aware of this agreement, but stressed that it cannot give a premature assessment.
He stated that EU member countries and non-member countries can cooperate by respecting the legislation.
"We received the text two days ago and we understand that this text is only a first step. At the moment it is premature to give an assessment for documents that have more political and non-legal value. In any case, the EU and its member countries can cooperate with other countries by respecting EU legislation", underlined Soreca in the joint conference with Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku./ CNA
