The Mayor of Bulqiza, Lefter Alla, appeared today before the GJKKO in the reassessment session of the security measure, after the arrest on account of SPAK.

Alla is accused of abuse of office, falsification of documents and forms and favoring a company with tenders.

But the mayor himself has claimed in front of the black squads that the charges brought against him are political.

"My arrest is political. I did not violate the law. In my opinion, it would be better to be told 'open your arms', than to have these political trials", said Alla.

According to SPAK investigations, Mr. Alla as well as other officials committed several violations during a tender in April 2021, for the renovation of the sewerage network in the area known as the "Old Neighborhood" of the city of Bulqiza, with a worth about 3 million dollars. The tender was won by two companies: "Egland Sh.pk" and "BE-IS" Sh.pk

The investigation showed that the arrested persons, including the mayor and the vice-mayor, favored one of the firms participating in the tender./ CNA
