Communication with Rama and threat from Bajrat/Koçek talks about leaving

MP Marjana Koçeku spoke today regarding her departure from the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group.

In a television appearance, Koçek stated that he decided to communicate his decision to leave the SP Group in order to leave no room for influence on this decision.

He further stated that after the decision he spoke with Prime Minister Edi Rama and explained the reasons for leaving the Socialist Party. Among other things, he added that after the decision he received support from many socialist members.

"Everyone, including my family, found out about it through social networks. It was my decision to communicate this decision through social networks in order to leave no room for influence for this decision. I had many phone calls from the leaders of the Socialist Party, messages as well, including from the Prime Minister. I responded to the Prime Minister a few days later, explaining even more why this decision came about and my disappointments and making it clear that this is a final decision. There were some attempts during the communication, but this has also been my position.

"These days I have seen dissatisfaction among SP members, MPs who have not expressed it during meetings, but it has been an easily readable dissatisfaction. I hope that they will find courage regardless of their political affiliation and stand for the values ??and beliefs they have and choose to perform the function for which we are all there, to represent the interests of Albanians and to work for our country. While they have supported me privately, I want to respect their privacy. There are some, not a few," she said.

Koçek also spoke about the threat from Bajrat, which he made public on social networks. 

"I have made my reaction public. I did not want to dwell on this part because my fight is political and will remain as such until the end. I cannot say if it had political content, but I have settled for that message and I believe it was a strong message and on solid grounds," said Koçeku.  /CNA
