The recount of preferential votes for 41 out of 42 Voting ...

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the judges' request for a salary increase.
Through a post on the X platform, Rama writes that after the 2022 decision, this request would now be a major abuse.
The Prime Minister calls the request of the Union of Judges to increase the salary of judges by 700 euros a violation of the Constitution and the seriousness of the Republic of Albania.
Rama's status
Interesting!
For the second time in three years, the Union of Judges is again demanding a salary increase in the court!
A unique, unheard of and unknown practice in the history of states - for judges to set their own salaries through the court - but which occurred in Albania, in 2022, when this Union requested in the Constitutional Court that the basic salary of judges be equivalent either to the basic salary of the Director of the Prime Minister's Department or to a percentage of the President's salary, at the discretion of the judges.
And the Constitutional Court accepted the request, guaranteeing a fixed base salary of 156,000 lek!
But this scandalous interference of the judiciary in the powers of the executive, apparently, has pleased the Union so much that after the increase in the salaries of the administration in May 2023, the Union of Judges is now again demanding from the Court an increase in the salaries of judges! This time, the Union is demanding that the basic salary be linked only to the basic salary of the Director of the Department in the Prime Minister's Office and is again demanding a change in the law.
While in 2022 the Union wanted to guarantee a basic amount regardless of any calculation, today it demands that, as a result of the increase in the administration's salary, the salary of judges be increased as well - and not a little, but a full 700 euros!
That is, this Union understood as an eternal privilege the fact that in order to support the independence of the judiciary and empower the judges who emerged from Vetting, we, with the Justice Reform, increased the salaries of the justice system immediately for ten to twenty years, consciously breaking the salary pyramid of the Republic of Albania! So, according to the Union, this republic will forever be the only one in the world where judges will not allow the broken salary pyramid to climb, because unlike the rest of the world, in Albania their salaries will not increase with the government and parliament, but with the court!!!…
Now, I very much hope that the bitter joke of the Constitutional Court the first time – which we silently accepted as an error that had to be swallowed for the sake of silent respect for a judicial decision – will not be repeated. Because silence towards any abuse, with our support for justice, is no longer an option for us. Moreover, in this case this would be a major, multidimensional abuse, which would affect many people and many things, starting from the Constitution itself and the seriousness of the Republic of Albania./ CNA
