He has been part of the Democratic Party for 3 decades! He has held a number of positions at the local level, and today he comes before the people of Shkodër as a candidate for MP. Arben Lushaj, a lawyer by profession, tells CNA about his political journey

"I am Arben Lushaj. I have been a member of the DP for 30 years, I started as a group section member, group section secretary, then group section chairman, member of the DP Shkodra leadership, deputy chairman of the DP, member of the Municipal Council, I also have a long career in state institutions during these 30 years. This long experience has made me be close to people and aspire to be in politics for a longer time in the DP."

The idea of ??running came because the DP is the only party that held a competition within the type of primaries, and there I came third in the Shkodra municipality and today I am part of the list of candidates for DP MP for this district in the May 11 elections.

Asked if he sees the fact that he is part of the open list as a double challenge, Lushaj replies:

"I absolutely do not see the competition on the open list as a challenge. I am very honored to be part of this list. It is a very good team with well-known figures from the Shkodra region, with honorable people who have various professions, and I will give my contribution to overthrowing this government."

As the campaign has officially started, Lushaj has begun intensive meetings with the field. Current issues are related to depopulation, lack of hope, neglect of the elderly, and tax increases, for which, according to him, the DP has a comprehensive program.

"The problems are very big. I meet pensioners whose pension is not even enough for medicine, I meet families where a family of two pays 29 thousand old lek for the water bill, which is not affordable for them at all because this government only increases prices and abuses Albanian taxes.

The PD program is a very good program because in these 34 years the PD has shown itself when it has been in power because it has kept all its promises. It is a program that affects citizens, increasing pensions, reducing the price of electricity or fuel or easing taxes. The PD program will be in every family of Albanian citizens. The PD with its program will affect every citizen, every person who has problems to ease them because there is no Albanian who has not reached the last point of poverty with this government in these 12 years. The figures themselves speak for themselves because in the last 10 years there are 1 million Albanians who have left the country, not having the opportunity to live in their own country.

"The whole of Albania knows how they won the Shkodra municipality, let's not forget that for 12 years the Rama government has brought zero investments to Shkodra. In these two years that they have been administering the Shkodra municipality, they are always a robbed municipality, they already say that we have brought millions of euros in investments. In fact, we all want development, but these investments that the Shkodra municipality is making are simply a facade. There is a truck with buffers placed on the streets of Shkodra for bicycles, unstudied, creating a lot of traffic on the streets of Shkodra, and another truck with polystyrene covering the buildings. These are all projects of the predecessors of the Benet gang, these are all projects of the DP, from the few taxes that the Shkodra municipality collected, it tried to invest by paving all the roads of the city and units. Today we see very well the propaganda that the Benet gang is making, where we are still a month away from May 11th and we are seeing that it is making a facade, paving asphalt, violating the law because these are all electoral investments on the eve of the elections."

There is a message for the citizens of the Shkodër Lushaj district: do not abandon the country and vote en masse on May 11th.

"It is for the citizens not to abandon the date of May 11. It is decisive for Albania. Let's go massively to vote and remove this evil from our country, remove it because it is engulfing Albania and leading it to extreme poverty. It depopulated the country. Nothing else flourishes here, only the towers, the tall palaces that Rama and his oligarchs build flourish, only theft flourishes, only crime flourishes, only gangs flourish and therefore I call on all the citizens of Shkodra and all of Albania to vote for the DP, not to abandon the election date, not to underestimate it because it is in our hands to remove this Bolshevik clique from power once and for all."

But why should we vote for number 1 and Arben Lushaj?

"Why should citizens of Shkodra vote for Arben Lushaj because I sleep in Shkodra with the troubles of the citizens. I wake up with the troubles of the citizens, I will be a resident of Shkodra again, I will serve it with dedication and with YES. What does YES mean, it means that I wake up in the morning with the good and bad of the city and go to bed with the good and bad of the city, I live here in this city with the citizens. I ask the citizens for their vote because I live here, I am not a foreigner who comes to Shkodra one day and lives in Tirana for 6 more, I will never do this because I grew up here, I was born here. I will serve here, I will work here with these people."
