Analyst Neritan Sejamini

Analyst Neritan Sejamini, invited to the "Opinion" show with Blendi Fevziu, stated that there is no chance that Albania will join the EU in the next two years.

According to Sejamini, Rama is lying because no one, not one of the European leaders, has told him that negotiations will open.

"There are two ways we can judge it, on the one hand, whether or not the promise itself is credible, and on the other hand, how much it affects citizens."

For me, he is not credible, Albania will not finish the negotiations in two years, no, there is no chance, he will not become a member even in 2030 and 2035 may be in question. So from the point of view of judging what he promises, it is whatever you want, a promise in the air, misinformation, a lie, you can call it whatever you want. But from the point of view of the impact on people, it is very simple, very understandable and is related to the aspiration that people have.

What is Mr. Rama doing with this, after 12 years of governance, anywhere in the world an election campaign would be a referendum on governance. With this thing he is doing, he is pushing people to talk about whether we will become or not in 2023, so that they do not talk about governance, about corruption. And in this way this is a finding, from a methodological point of view it is a finding. How true is it? It is completely untrue, it is completely propaganda, it is completely absurd. No one has told him that we will close the negotiations, he is lying when he says that the European leaders promised him. Negotiations are not something that we can just sit down and finish.

"The biggest misinformation is that you will join the EU, we will write some papers and sign them. It is a process where you completely change the political, social, economic structure to adapt it to the EU and this is a very long process, the Albanian market must be strengthened, Albanian politics, democracy," said Sejamini./ CNA
