Jorida Tabaku, from the Democratic Party, in the role of chairwoman of the European Integration Council, in an interview with Marita Haklaj on A2CNN, spoke about the Brussels Summit and the Bulgarian veto.

Tabaku said the government is hiding behind the Bulgarian veto. She stressed that even if the date of the first intergovernmental conference is set today, the Albanian government needs at least 6 months to set up the structures.

“Kemi 8 vite që flasim për një situatë të njëjtë që nuk ndryshon. Frustrimi më i madh është për Shqipërinë dhe Maqedoninë e Veriut. Ne duhet ta kishim kaluar këtë situatë me kohë. Mënyra sesi qeveria është sjell ndaj këtij procesi, nënvlerësimi që i ka bërë, i ka marrë gjërat për të mirëqena, kanë shërbyer që të kemi edhe nga qytetarët një demotivim. Një sjellje e përgjithshme që ka sjellë këtë situatë që jemi sot.

Mua nuk më pëlqeu fare arroganca me të cilën kryeministri e luajti këtë çështje dhe prepotenca me të cilën e luajti këtë çështje. Është e vërtetë që vendet anëtare kanë thënë se Shqipëria duhet të hapë konferencën e parë ndërqeveritare. Edhe unë jam dakord që duhet të hapet, për arsye krejtësisht të ndryshme. Kriteret nuk janë plotësuar. Për mua duhet të jetë një vendim politik dhe duhej të ishte hapur konferenca e parë. Më duket e papranueshme që çështje bilaterale mes dy vendeve të bëhen pengesë. Ne e kemi kaluar këtë situatë, e cila ka bërë që edhe Maqedonia e Veriut të presë.
