New details have emerged from the investigation of former senior FBI counterintelligence officer Charles McGonigal, who was arrested on Saturday by US authorities.
Among other things, he is accused of having received 225,000 dollars from a former employee of the secret services of Albania and having held a series of meetings with businessmen and politicians in Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia, but without reporting them according to the rules.
The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, was asked about this issue, where it is said that the name of Prime Minister Edi Rama is mentioned in the indictment.
Gjiknuri hastened to say that these are tales made up to silence the new evidence for January 21.
"The FBI agent is being investigated by American justice. This news is important for the USA and not for the affairs of Albania. Don't make the stories funny like Berisha does.
Let's not confuse Nik Muzina's proven file with other fabricated cases", said Gjiknuri./ CNA.al
