The candidate for deputy of the Mundësia Party in the Fier district, Frida Mavriqi, has given an interview to CNA.

In the interview, Mavriqi explained why he chose to be part of the Opportunity Party.

She also spoke about expectations from May 11, where she said that her party will receive a madnat in Fier and will have the opportunity to create a parliamentary group in the Assembly.

Why did you choose the "Opportunity" Party to become part of politics?

My desire to participate in politics has been early. I have not found myself in any of the political forces and so I have been following it from the screen. Until the day I saw the establishment of the Opportunity Party, it seemed like the light at the end of the tunnel. I have seen politics as a regulator of the lives of citizens, so I wanted to be part of it. I participated in the Opportunity Party because at the moment it is the only right-wing, center-right party that coincides with the aspirations of my generation.

First on the list for Fier, do you think you will be part of the next Parliament, knowing that it is among the most challenging districts for politics?

The Fier region is the most challenging region after Tirana. Historically, the vote in Fier has tilted to the left, it is often called a leftist bastion. This does not scare me, it motivates me to work harder. This motivation comes because after every meeting I see the great change that the people of Fier have for change. That change that they have not seen in 35 years. After every meeting, a great responsibility is added to me. Being first on the list does not give me security. It gives me a very great responsibility, I have to work hard. We will not just have a very good result, we will definitely have a mandate in the Fier region. I am convinced that after May 11 we will go to Parliament with 1 mandate from Fier.

"We are the real opposition," said Mr. Shehaj at the campaign launch. "What distinguishes you from other opposition parties?"

We are in complete contrast to any other political party. The party's candidates have not been tainted. We do not have a list filled with clients or old names. We are not young only in age, but also in mentality. Shehaj has been the only opposition, the only one who has spoken about big issues, about problems. Think if after May 11, Shehaj will not be alone, but with a parliamentary group. It will be the real opposition that Albanians have not seen in 34 years. After May 11, we will be the only opposition, where we will not be silent, we will not oppress anyone's interests. We are imperfect. Let us not be silent in the face of any compromise.

A collaboration with the DP or the SP?

Voters ask us not to form any coalition, neither right nor left. We offer this assurance, that the Opportunity Party will not unite its votes with either the SP or the DP. We see them as old politics, Albanians are tired of the old politics. None of the points of our program are similar to other parties. We will not form a coalition with any of the political parties.

The first candidate in the Fier district. Why should Fier citizens choose Frida Mavriqi?

If I saw myself as a voter and why would I vote for a new candidate, because I don't come from old politics or a certain position. I can easily approach my voter by saying that I have no political bargaining and I don't have a position to defend. I come from real life. I know what it means to get a job with meritocracy. I know the suffering of Albanians, I don't try to hide them. My entire focus is to heal the pain of Albanians that I have understood from my profession. I am new to politics but I am not new to responsibility. All of us as candidates of the "Mundësia" Party, especially the district leaders, most of them are entrepreneurs. We as candidates are all young and we are all immaculate in our field. Like me in the Fier district, but the others are also candidates with a new mentality and mindset and who have decided to stay in Albania and not leave, because they want to make a contribution. And I can leave, but I have decided to stay here, to be in Albania, at the service of the citizens.

Will the Opportunity Party be the third force?

According to a poll, the Opportunity Party is the third force in Parliament. This does not surprise me. We conduct our weekly polls, we know where we are. We are even better than the result that the poll gave us. I am convinced that we will be a third force./ CNA
