Energy and Corridor VIII/ Balluku reveals the challenges of the government from

The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku participated today in a conference on energy in Skopje, North Macedonia.

After the conference, Balluku made a statement to the media, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Fatmir Bytyqi.

In a statement to the media, Balluku said that they talked with Bytyq about the challenges, which are energy security and energy efficiency.

"With a special invitation from my colleague, Fatmir Bytyqi, I participated today in a conference on energy, here in the capital of North Macedonia, in Skopje, where, to be honest, you should never miss an opportunity to sit down with colleagues , to discuss all the challenges that the Western Balkans has in terms of energy, which are very similar to the challenges that Europe faces today, starting with energy security and continuing with energy efficiency, but also with regional cooperation, which is the most important for us.

North Macedonia and Albania have long started to cooperate, especially in terms of the new project, which is the Vlora port project, where a navigable gasification is foreseen, which will also have other developments, such as the distribution of natural gas liquid in other countries of the region, as well as the production of electricity through molecules that will come from the United States of America. I thank you very much for the opportunity given today", she said, while Bytyqi mentioned Corridor VIII.

The Albanian Deputy Prime Minister stated that although they do not have a cooperation for Corridor VIII, the governments of the two countries are investing in infrastructure to meet at the border point.

"This is very true. I would say that the cooperation between the two governments is a model cooperation, that to be honest we often promote this in other countries of the region, saying that look at the fruits of the cooperation we have with North Macedonia and as you mention Corridor VIII, despite the fact that we have not received support from the European Union that both sides expected, with our powers we have started it, you have also laid the first foundation stone, we are also working on the first lot to met at the new border point that the two teams, the two teams created by the two governments, the Albanian one and the North Macedonian one, are working closely to have as soon as possible a joint plan on where we will meet with the Corridor of VIII", declared Balluku./ CNA.al
