The MPs of the SP and DP joined the votes in the Economy Committee today and increased their salaries and those of the ministers.

Since the MPs went against the government's decision that postponed the salary increase for them and overthrew it, the MP and vice-president of the Commission, Blerina Gjylameti, was asked if there was a secret agreement between the MPs.

Gjylmeti denied having a secret agreement, while declaring that the public's perception of politics must change.

"We had a proposal from our colleagues in the Economy Committee, we also had proposals from the Legal Committee and today we decided not to avoid having all public officials under the roof of the salary hierarchy. If the government had a proposal to postpone the deadlines in order to complete the entire reform and have another moment for the revision of the salaries for the deputies, today it was decided differently. It's not about collusion or anything, the public's perception of politics needs to change. I don't want to say that everyone enters politics for the public interest, but meanwhile there are many colleagues who are honorable and contribute to the public interest."/ CNA.al
